Equipment
For aluminium scrap melting UAB "Baltical" uses a rotating, tilt furnace (8 tones of liquid metal capacity) and one of the reflective tilt furnace (20 tones of liquid metal capacity); as a holding furnace for the final product mixing (aluminium alloy) and cast it into forms of 5 kg the second reflective tilt furnace (20 tones of liquid metal capacity) is used. Thanks to the rotary furnace, the company "Baltical" can recycle UBC's, probably the toughest problems causing aluminium scrap.
A typical aluminium melting speed in the furnaces, using two 2.9 MW burners, is 3.5 tonnes per hour, and in the rotary furnace, using a 2.6 MW burner, it is 2.5 tonnes per hour. Capacity of all company's furnaces, connected into a single technological line, is up to 7 tons of liquid aluminium per hour.
T MASTERS production casting conveyor cast liquid aluminium into moulds of 5 kg capacity and 59 cm long. Casting line is installed next to the holding furnace, temperature of aluminium being poured is usually below 700 °C, so high filling rate is maintained: at an average 4 tons of castings per hour.
